Description
Sculpture depicting The Madonna of Tindari. Resin. The Statue is made by Neapolitan master craftsmen, completely of Italian production.
The origin of the cult to Our Lady of Tindari, dates back to very remote times, no well-defined and critically ascertained historical records can be found. There is, however, a pious tradition that does not contain, at least from the aspect of orthodoxy, anything far-fetched or contradictory, we can certainly accept, especially since it is presented against a historical background. Our Lady is shown seated, holding her divine Son on her lap, holding her right hand raised, blessing. She also wears on her head an oriental-type crown, a kind of turban, carved from the same wood, decorated with light golden arabesques
