Jesus is depicted here in a half-length pose with the blue mantle that recalls Christ’s humanity, with three fingers of his right hand raised in the act of blessing humanity, while with his left hand he holds “the closed book” symbolizing divine law and his mercy toward all humanity. It is a copy of Byzantine art. The image is a lithograph on wood and finished with mirror gold leaf, while the haloes, writings, and borders are handmade. The hook on the back gives the possibility to be hung on the wall. The certificate on the back of the icon attests to its provenance from Greece.
