Description

The Pentecost icon focuses on the apostolic mission of the Church, represented by the Apostles. This icon takes up an ancient iconographic module, with the group of disciples sitting in a semicircle. In Christian symbolism, the circle comes to symbolize the unity and communion among the Apostles around Christ, Head of the Church.

This icon is a lithograph on wood and finished with gold leaf, while the haloes, writings and borders are handmade. The hook on the back gives the possibility to be hung on the wall. The certificate on the back of the icon attests to its provenance from Greece.
