Gilded oak veneer panel depicting Saint Rita of Cascia. Rita da Cascia, born Margherita Lotti, was an Italian nun from the hermit monastery of St. Mary Magdalene. Beatified by Pope Urban VIII in 1626, she was canonized by Pope Leo XIII in 1900.
